This edition, which was revised including the composer's sketches, may sound quite new to those who are accustomed to the Schudan edition that is usually available, as it lacks some famous arias and has a different ending. Alanya's beautiful voice and the outstanding singing of Desay, who was at the height of her powers at the time, are a treat to hear.
