Description:

C-major label's new video series "Vienna Philharmonic Subscription Concert Series" will start in September 2022 with a new video series "The Exclusive Subscription Concert Series" by Argerich & Mehta. The Exclusive Subscription Concert Series" will be released on the German C-major label! The Vienna Philharmonic subscription concerts are held on Saturdays, Sundays, and Soirées (weekdays). Membership is not available to the general public (tickets are only sold to the general public when there is a surplus of subscription tickets). In addition, in order to obtain a membership, you must write a letter to the Philharmonic to express your interest in becoming a member. The waiting list is renewed every spring, so you have to keep writing to the Philharmonic until an opening becomes available, and when it does, you become a regular member. This film is the first in a series of rare video recordings of these hard-to-find concerts. The first release is a concert video from September 2022, conducted by Zubin Mehta. The program featured Martha Argerich as soloist, Schumann's Piano Concerto, and Bruckner's Symphony No. 4 in the second half. Argerich first performed with the Vienna Philharmonic in 2017 at the age of 76, and has performed with the orchestra several times since then at its home base, the Musikverein, and just performed Ravel's piano concerto with Mehta in March 2024. Mehta, who will turn 88 on April 29, 2024, is a maestro conductor and has been closely associated with the Vienna Philharmonic, having appeared five times in the orchestra's New Year's Concert. In Schumann's Piano Concerto, Mehta and Argerich, who have worked together for many years, are in perfect harmony, and Argerich's piano tone is clear and brilliant, with the highly refined expressiveness that is typical of Mehta. In the Bruckner, the Vienna Philharmonic's rich, rich sound and its ability to carefully render the complex structure of the piece is breathtaking. King International
