Two historical mandolins from the 17th and 18th centuries. The "Six Partitas" by Sauli, who was active at the Habsburg Court! Filippo Sauli (17th-18th century), a Florentine musician of the 17th and 18th centuries, is said to have been a theorbo player at the Habsburg court in Vienna. He is said to have had a close friendship with Francesco Conti (1681-1732), who was also a theorbo player at the Habsburg court in Vienna, and with whom he played the obbligato part with two mandolins in Conti's opera "Il trinonfo dell'amicizia" (The Victory of Friendship). It is said that they had a close friendship. The six partitas for mandolin left by Sauli were revived by Davide Lebuffa, an Italian string player who studied at the Genoa Conservatory and then studied lute, theorbo, and bihuela with the master Hopkinson-Smith.The "Six Partitas," which show important changes in the form of music for mandolin in the late Baroque period, was composed by playing two historical mandolins from the 17th and 18th centuries (Stefano Franchi, made in 1727 (Florence), maker unknown, 17th-18th century). The sound of the period is reproduced. Please enjoy the precious sound of the historical mandolin and the excellent works of an unknown Italian musician who was active at the Habsburg court.
