TCB's "Swiss Radio Days Jazz Series" has been reissuing rare broadcast recordings and reissuing them with high-quality re-mastering from the original tapes. Volume 45 features previously unreleased live recordings of the Dexter Gordon Quartet from 1978 in Villasau, Switzerland! It was a night at the Villisau Jazz Festival organized by Swiss designer Niklaus Troxler. Backed by the trio of George Caples, Rufus Reid, and Eddie Gladden, who also performed with him on the famous "Manhattan Symphony" album, Dexter's brilliant playing during the very good and happy times of 1978, when he was named "Artist of the Year" by Down Beat magazine is included on this newly remastered recording. Recorded live at Hotel Molen, Willisau, Switzerland, March 4, 1978.
