Released in 2003, BigNoyd’s album *Only The Strong* marked a pivotal turning point in his career. Appearing as his first full-length album following the 1996 underground classic *Episodes of a Hustla*, this work captures BigNoyd at his finest, distinguished by his razor-sharp rapping and uncompromising stance. Built on a foundation of reality rooted in personal experience and authentic street life, *Only The Strong* is a powerful statement from an artist with genuine experience and conviction. He further honed the Queensbridge realism that established his reputation as a “raw chronicler of the streets,” presenting his unadorned lyricism head-on. Now, *Only The Strong* is being released for the first time on vinyl. Produced in partnership with Coalmine Reissues, the release features meticulous attention to detail. Meticulously designed from the sound to the packaging, the album has been newly remastered. This enhances clarity, punch, and weight, breathing new life into the raw production. Guest appearances include Mobb Deep members Havoc and Prodigy. Their inclusion not only highlights the Queensbridge lineage but also symbolizes the chemistry and tension that defined the scene at the time. The Alchemist handled the majority of the production and, alongside Big Noyd, is credited as an executive producer, crafting a cohesive soundscape throughout the album. Additionally, production by Havoc, Sebb, and Big Noyd himself completes the album’s unsettling and dark soundscape. A defining moment of this album is “Shoot Em Up (Bang Bang)” Part 1. Unfolding over a hard-hitting beat by The Alchemist, this track stands out as one of the most memorable and iconic songs in Big Noyd’s discography. Furthermore, the street anthem “Air It Out,” featuring Havoc, is another raw highlight. Furthermore, on “Noyd Holdin’ It Down”—driven by The Alchemist’s synths and punchy drums—Havoc’s flawless guest verse provides solid support for the track. Even now, more than 20 years after its release, *Only The Strong* remains an uncompromising, hard-hitting album that realistically portrays survival, loyalty to one’s crew, and the convictions forged on the streets. This Collector’s Edition cassette marks the album’s first-ever cassette release. It features a full-color, double-sided J-card with layout design by Mr. Krum, and the audio has been remastered by D-Sane (DigitalAgeSound).
