CHALLENGE label's master pianist Minnaar records the masterpiece Gortberg! A beautiful performance sung slowly with a transparent sound. In addition to the clear sound and clean phrasing, the simple and slow singing is a perfect example of the approach that seems to be one of the answers of our time. The approach is like a modern-day answer to the question. The 25th variation, played at a slower tempo, also has a rich melodic continuity, and the overall atmosphere is beautifully unified. The bonus disc, "Thinking of Bach" by Dutch composer Mannekke, was written for a concert of Minnaar's "Goltberg," and was performed in concert between the 15th and 16th variations. It is a fantastic little piece that can be played alone or with a Bach aria at the end. King International.
