This is the third album in three years by the Colin Varon Trio, which also made its first tour of Japan in 2015. Colin Varon's piano again takes the lead on this album, but instead of playing solo all over the place, he quietly outlines the melody and creates a space for group improvisation through sophisticated flamework. Quiet, lyrical, and serene, it climaxes as the rhythm grows stronger. Vallon, a Swiss Music Prize nominee, wrote nine of the songs on this album, but his band members bear equal responsibility for the music, and without Patrice Moret's weighty bass and Julien Sartorius' delicate drums and cymbals, Vallon would not have been able to create the music he did. Without Patrice Moret's heavy bass and Julien Sartorius' sensitive drums and cymbals, Vallon's broad expression of artistic concepts and emotions would not be successful.
