Description:

From the legendary studio in the south of France, a piano solo album that plays the truth 《Stéphane Mocchio - Legends, Myths and Lavender》, a new album by American Grammy Award-winning composer, lyricist and producer Stephan Mocchio, "Legends, Myths and Lavender" will be released on Decca/Republic Records. The album was recorded over 26 days in the winter of 2023 at the legendary "Miravalle Studios" in the south of France, where Mocchio moved from Los Angeles. The studio is known for its recent reconstruction by Brad Pitt with music producer Damien Quintard. Far from the hustle and bustle of the city, his daily routine was special. He woke up in the morning, exercised, enjoyed breakfast, recorded and composed until 7 pm, had dinner, and continued working until midnight. Music, wine, and buildings are the three things I am most passionate about," Mocchio says with a laugh, "and the Miraval Studios experience combined them. While in France, I was in conversation with myself, with my head and my heart. My music is my way out of the noise of everyday life. The buildings, the wineries, the food, and the silence, it was the perfect vehicle for 'Legends, Myths and Lavender'." When Stefan Mocchio sits alone at the piano, what he plays is truth. There are no filters, no boundaries, no walls. Emotions come from his heart, through his fingertips, and from the instrument itself. This honesty is the very artistry of his solos and the reason for his worldwide popularity. He has drawn audiences to his hundreds of piano concerts in the United States, Canada, England, Austria, and elsewhere, on such prestigious stages as the Boston Pops. He has also spotlighted the culture of solo piano music, which has led to this album. This album is Mocchio's first release for "Decca/Republic Records," and Monte Lippmann, founder and CEO of Republic Records, said, "My dear friend Stephan is an exceptional virtuoso whose talent transcends all boundaries. He is also a brilliant artist who demonstrates an extraordinary ability to both create and produce music. Stefan has an amazing ability to empathize in the studio with other artists, which makes for incredibly great music that has stood the test of time.
