It’s no exaggeration to say that “Sweet Home Chicago” is a masterpiece that represents not only Robert Johnson but the blues itself. From Magic Sam to the Blues Brothers, the list of musicians who have covered this song is endless. Surprisingly, it was not included on the 1961 LP *King of the Delta Blues Singers*, and it is believed that even when it was released on a 78 rpm record in 1937, it did not receive much attention in Mississippi. It is a song that gained recognition over time and can be seen as a testament to Robert’s pioneering spirit. “Walkin’ Blues” was a song that Muddy Waters also covered as a favorite in his repertoire. With lyrics inspired by Sun House and Blind Lemon Jefferson, a guitar sound that truly struts along with a thump-thump rhythm, and a cool phrasing that evokes Robert’s signature groove, this is a standout track.
