Szabolcs Bognar, the jazz x Afrobeat project (Abase) of the Hungarian talent Giles Peterson has praised as "definitely a producer to watch," is now releasing its long-awaited second album on CD (paper jacket) with bonus tracks in Japan! Bogn a r has been directly reflecting his own musical adventures and encounters along the way, and this album, which means "awakening," also reflects the new vision brought about by his recent situation, including his move to Berlin. Avoiding multiple recordings, the majority of the songs were improvised and recorded in 1ST or 2ND takes. The preceding singles, "Destruction Everywhere" and "Menidaso," are Afrobeat x spiritual jazz that epitomize his musical style.On the other hand, "GyaszbaBorult Isten Csillagvara," a lyrical cover of a Hungarian folk song that takes him back to his roots, "Shining," a direct reflection of his hero Jadira's influence, and "Sun Is Away," a magnificent spiritual jazz piece with guest appearances by members of the Sun Ra Arkestra. and "Sun Is Away," an epic spiritual jazz piece that also features guest appearances by members of the Sun Ra Arkestra. The ensemble, which includes musicians from Hungary, Germany, Ghana, Australia, and many other countries, is a masterpiece, integrating Bognar's musical influences with Coltrane-esque modal improvisations.
