Description:
Julian Large is one of the leading guitarists of contemporary jazz. He has performed with many jazz legends such as Gary Burton and Charles Lloyd, and has been praised by the New York Times as a "natural talent. This is his first visit to Japan in four years, and is commemorated with a special Japan-only release. The album includes "Vue With A Room" released in 2022 and "The Layers" released in 2023, which were produced in the same session, as well as a trio version of "Tributary" as previously unreleased material, making it a truly complete set of sessions. The trio consists of bassist Jorge Roeder and drummer Dave King, with guest participation by Bill Frisell. Julian and Bill have performed together in a variety of contexts, including duo concerts and a project conceived by John Zorn, but this time around, the pairing is a must-hear, as if they are exploring new orchestral possibilities.Regarding the Japan tour, which is already sold out, Julian said, "I am very excited to be going to Japan again, especially since I will be with my closest collaborator and great friend, Jorge Roeder. Even more so since I will be with my closest collaborator and best friend, Jorge Roeder. He is an amazing bass player, composer, and arranger. Jorge has been involved in the music I've been making for the past 10 or 15 years. From composing to arranging and of course playing. This will be a rare and special opportunity for us to perform our originals as well as our newest songs. I can't wait! I look forward to seeing you all at the show.
