This album traces Mozart's development as a composer through his little-known works, the first of which, K.400, was written around 1781 and left unfinished until Maximilian Stadler (1748-1833) completed it. Tracks 2-15 are works from his childhood. The works from track 2 to 15 are from his childhood, and show a neat melodic beauty and a budding sense of formality, as well as an exploration of the dance form. From track 16, there are works from the middle to late period, including the Minuet K.355, which is full of mature beauty, and K.315a, which transcends the framework of a simple dance and also expresses a sense of introspection. The Piano Sonata K.547a is an adaptation of the Violin Sonata K.547, with the Variations K.54 in between. Although K.54 is younger in work number, it was composed around 1788 and is related to the Violin Sonata K.547. American pianist Vijay Venkatesh is a winner of international competitions and has performed with major orchestras around the world. He also performs as a piano duo with his wife Eva Schaumkel.
