Using the technique of shadow puppetry, the film's strong contrasts of light and shadow, unique screen composition and artwork, and captivatingly fantastic colors are truly a work of visual magic. The world is astonished and fascinated by the self-taught art of director Michel Oslo. This is the second feature film by director Michel Oslo, who gained much attention for "Kirik and the Witch," which was released in theaters in Japan in 2004 and became a big hit. The film won two awards at the Chicago International Children's Film Festival. Two children talk to each other in a movie theater: "If I were a princess... If I were a prince..." Six fables from six different countries, ancient Egypt, medieval Europe, Japan's Edo period, and the near future are told with variety, humor, and a gentle and warm story.
