Description:

Resonance Records finally presents the official release of the Bill Evans Trio's 1979 live recording in Buenos Aires! Mark Johnson (b) and Joe LaBarbera (ds) of the Rust Trio join the trio. Japanese pressing, 180g weight vinyl, limited edition. Includes a complete translation of the original booklet with previously unreleased photos! Resonance Records is proud to present another two live recordings of the Bill Evans Trio in Spain! This album was recorded at a concert in Buenos Aires, Spain in 1979. This is the first official release with the cooperation of the Bill Evans Estate. Remastered from the live original concert tape reel (broadcast material) that the trio of Bill Evans (p), Mark Johnson (b), and Joe LaBarbera (ds) performed at the Teatro Gran Rex in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on September 27, 1979. The recording was made in 1979, and Bill Evans passed away the following year, but this is his so-called last trio performance. The 13 songs on this recording are wonderfully dynamic, with no hint of death in the performance. The songs on this album are also mostly songs that Evans liked to play. It also features plenty of bass solos by Mark Johnson and drum solos by Joe LaBarbera. The booklet includes rare photos from the actual concert, essays by American author/journalist Mark Myers and Argentinean writer Claudio Parisi, and recent interviews with Carlos Merello, Mark Johnson, Joe LaBarbera, and others who owned the original tapes. The LP was mastered by the popular Bernie Grundman and pressed by Record Technology Inc. The LP was mastered by the popular Bernie Grundman, and pressed by Record Technology Inc. The sound quality is very clear, even though it was recorded in mono. Remastered from the original master tapes, the thick and realistic sound of the three musicians is beautifully captured. It is also of interest to analog audio fans. The album "Morning Glory : The 1973 Concert at the Teatro Gram Rex, Buenos Aires", which was recorded in Buenos Aires in 1973 with Eddie Gomez (b) and Marty Morrell (ds), was also released at the same time, and it is fun to listen to both albums. The original liner notes in English are complete. Includes complete translation of the original English liner notes (translation by Tamashige Terai). Commentary by Hiroki Sugita.
