Mitsuko Uchida's live brilliance resonated in Japan during the Mozart Year. Super Audio CD Hybrid Software with the special attention to detail that only ESOTERIC can offer. ESOTERIC's reissue series of masterpieces has been continuously highly acclaimed for its insatiable dedication to the original master sound and the overwhelming improvement of sound quality through the hybridization of Super Audio CDs. The world's first Super Audio CD hybridization has been realized by DSD mastering from the original masters using advanced technology and sensibilities. This time, we are releasing three titles from Decca, Philips, and Warner Classics' masterpieces, which represent the best performances and recordings of the analog era and the early digital era, as Super Audio CD hybrids. The "Uchida of the World" created by the Mozart Project Mitsuko Uchida, born in Atami, Japan in 1948, moved to Europe in 1961 at the age of 12 to study at the Vienna Conservatory, where she won the 3rd prize at the 1966 Munich International, the 10th prize at the 1968 Queen Elisabeth International, the 1st prize at the 1969 Vienna Beethoven International, and the 2nd prize at the 1970 Chopin International. In 1972, he moved his base to London, where he has been active mainly in Europe, but has not received much recognition and has made only a few recordings in Japan. In 1972, he moved to London and worked mainly in Europe. In 1982, he gave a series of concerts of Mozart's piano sonatas at the Wigmore Hall, where his fresh interpretations won rave reviews from London critics, and in 1984, he conducted the English Chamber Orchestra in a concert of Mozart's complete piano concertos, a performance that cemented his reputation. In 1984, Uchida conducted the English Chamber Orchestra in a concert of Mozart's complete piano concertos. In October 1983, the Philips label began recording Uchida's complete piano sonatas. After completing the sonatas in February 1985, Uchida immediately began recording the complete set of piano concertos in October of the same year, completing the recording in February 1990. In 1984, Uchida made his debut with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Seiji Ozawa, and since then, he has been invited by major orchestras in the United States and Europe, as well as by world music festivals such as Salzburg, Proms, and Lucerne. In the process, Mozart's works became the trademark of "Uchida of the World. Uchida's style, which was extremely sensitive but did not simply rely on inspiration or emotion, but created performances based on precise musical thinking, was truly fresh and captivated audiences around the world. Unprecedented performance that gained high acclaim in the Mozart year of 1991 In 1991, the bicentennial year of Mozart's death, Mozart's works were performed all over the world, and Mitsuko Uchida, who had just finished recording sonatas and concertos, was invited to perform a five-night piano sonata cycle at the Lincoln Center in New York. She also performed her interpretation of Mozart on the world's most prestigious stages, including a five-night Piano Sonata Cycle at New York's Lincoln Center. Uchida came to Japan in May of that year, and gave concerts in Tokyo's Suntory Hall and Osaka's Symphony Hall featuring exclusively Mozart works. On the first day (May 10), Sonatas Nos. 10, 8, and 12, Fantasy in D minor, and Sonata No. 17 will be performed; on the second day (May 12), Sonatas Nos. 5 and 18, Variations on the "Pilgrimage to Mecca," Rondo in D minor, and Sonata No. 17; on the third day (May The third day (May 17) consisted of Sonata No. 15, Fantasy in C minor, Sonata No. 14, Variations on "Pilgrimage to Mecca," and Sonata No. 18, which was a well thought-out combination by Uchida, who is well versed in Mozart's works. The combination of these two pieces was a contrasting and challenging one. These three days at Suntory Hall and the performances at the Symphony Hall in between were all recorded live by Philips in the Netherlands at the time, from which four sonatas and five piano works were selected and compiled into two CDs. The disc was released in Japan at the end of the same year. You can even hear Uchida's spirit in daring to perform live. Uchida is well known for his love of recordings of past performers, and he places great importance on the act of recording, basically making his own recordings in sessions and building them up precisely through repeated takes. It was a great surprise that Uchida decided to record his own recitals live, even in a Mozart year. This 2-CD set permeates every corner of the recording with such conviction and confidence, and unlike the session recordings of the 1980s, it clearly records the emotional movement that only a live performance can capture, which shifts from moment to moment. The pieces are arranged in a different order than in the recital, but it is clear that the contrast between the different pieces and their individual qualities have been carefully thought out. Uchida said in a later interview about Suntory Hall, "I especially like this hall. It is one of my three favorite halls. The sound is better than anything else." It seems as if even Uchida's thoughts were engraved in this live performance. The famous duo of Holland and Philips came to Japan to record the show. Wilhelm Helwijk, who was the chief producer of Philips at the time and was in charge of Mitsuko Uchida after Eric Smith, and the famous engineer Ono Skortse came all the way to Japan for the recording, while the Japanese engineer Suekken Fukui, who is currently a balance engineer for the N&F label, was in charge of the recording. On the Japanese side, master engineer Suekken Fukui, who is currently a balance engineer for the N&F label, was in charge of the project to make sure everything was in place. While the hall's atmospheric resonance is brought to life, the sound is not overdone, and Uchida's delicate touch and the transitions in the sound are fully captured. This is the first full-scale remastering of this recording, which has had a reputation as a great recording since it was first released. As in the past, no compromises were made in the process from the selection of the masters to the final DSD mastering. In particular, Esoteric Mastering was used for the DSD mastering. The Master Sound Discrete DAC and Master Sound Discrete Clock, ESOTERIC's top-of-the-line equipment, were carefully tuned. The generous use of MEXCEL cables enabled us to transfer the information contained in the original master to disc with a smooth sound.
