Trevor Pinnock and the Royal Academy of Music Soloists Ensemble perform Bach's masterpiece for keyboard in a chamber orchestral version. This is the second project. This time, a new arrangement with similar orchestration was commissioned from the composer Thomas Ehrler from the Royal Academy of Music. Aiming for a different approach from the familiarity of Koffler's arrangement, Ehler chose from six partitas No. 1, No. 2, No. 5, and No. 6 to Corrente, with strings (4/4/3/3/1), flute, oboe, cor anglais, and bassoon each. The work was created through the process of "reimagining," which is a step further than arranging, and while using only Bach's written forms, the various instruments inherit the phrases and express the movement of the voices with vivid colors, and by making the harmony sound thick and impressive, it is the pinnacle of Bach's keyboard works. The result is a work of Bach's highest quality on the keyboard, and he has succeeded in giving it an ultra-period beauty reminiscent of the Romantic period, while maintaining the perfection of the Bach keyboard works.The final piece is an original work by Ehler, "Stream of Light. The title is a play on the German word Bach (brook), and the piece expresses the image of Bach's music illuminating people's souls, with a faint recollection of partitas.
