The "Linalor Ensemble," featuring David Hatcher and Asako Morikawa, who are active in fretwork and other projects, and other members familiar to fans of Japanese classical music, makes its debut on Inventa Records. The title of this album refers to Jacob Huger (1459-1525), the head of the Huger family based in Augsburg, Germany. The Hugger family amassed enormous wealth through trade and mining operations in the 15th and 16th centuries, and reigned as the main banker of the Holy Roman Empire. The music played at his court was stored in the Austrian National Library in a large number of manuscripts, and David Hatcher, who saw the manuscripts, revised and transcribed them into a modern score for this recording. The music is mainly from German-speaking countries and Flanders in the early 16th century. Naxos Japan
