A passion that surges! Piazzolla by Sabatier and Alarcon Argentinean harpsichordist and conductor Alarcon performs a piazzolla with a modern orchestra. The soloist is the versatile French bandoneon player Sabatier, who performs the famous Bandoneon Concerto with the Burgundy Orchestra, and from the very beginning the soloist and orchestra are united in a performance of tremendous passion. The popular "Dedication to Liège," also with bandoneon and guitar solo, is recorded here in a version with piano instead of guitar, which is a key point. The piano is played by Aridon-Kochowek, a native of Poland and a member of the French-based tango group Quinteto Respiro. He is on par with Alarcon and Sabatier, and his expression is very impressive, as if he is gradually pushing out his hidden passion. The rising tanguasso and melancholy of Oblivion, also recorded with the band, are also wonderful. Naxos Japan
