Description:
Born in 1967, Vichal holds a special place in the Czech art scene. He is known for writing stimulating works in traditional classical styles, incorporating elements of Czech and Moravian folk music, or even Eastern European music as far afield as Poland; he began playing the accordion at the age of 8, became an accomplished soloist, and won numerous awards for his duos with his brother. In parallel, as a choral conductor, he directed university choirs and composed numerous accessible choral works; since 1973 he has been a teacher of Musical Music and Music Pedagogy at the Palazki University in Olomouc, where he has also received international composition awards. This album includes "Fanfare for Palacky University" and other representative works. All are full of powerful music. Naxos Japan
