This is the first album by tail wind. tail wind is a contemporary jazz band formed in 2016 by Teihisa Suzuki (g) with Toshio Miki (ts), Jiro Okada (b), and Juma Kano (d). IN PRAISE OF SHADOWS" is an English translation of Junichiro Tanizaki's "In-ei Reisan" and a tribute to the work, which is about the unique Japanese sense of beauty. If the "light" part of the song is the theme, the chord is "Yin"; the song "In-ei-rai-san" (M2) was chosen as the album title because of its focus on the beautiful development of the chord behind the theme. This is a collection of 8 songs recorded in one shot at FM Tokyo's studio IRIS in March 2019. All songs consist of original works by the members, and although recorded in a studio, the album has a live and vigorous feel with little editing. Liner notes included.
