The key role of Alana, the manager of a video rental store where Lawrence starts working part-time, is played by Romina Dugo, a talented actress from Toronto, who develops a "strange friendship" with Lawrence through a chance encounter with a man full of problems. This film, which has been compared to "Ghost World" (2001) and "Lady Bird" (2005), is not only a coming-of-age film that depicts a helplessly eccentric, sad, and clumsy high school experience, but also a universal growth story of a young person struggling between ideals and reality.The film, which has been heralded as "the future of Canadian cinema," has finally landed in Japan! This is a coming-of-age comedy about a high school student who is a troublemaker and movie buff, set in Canada in 2003 when rental DVDs were in their heyday!
