Competent pianist Yuri Takahashi releases an album combining Schubert and Liszt! After graduating from Toho Gakuen School of Music, Takahashi studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and the Stuttgart State Music Conservatory, and has won prizes at the Haen International Competition and other competitions. This album features Schubert and Liszt. The program includes Schubert's Improvisation, Schubert's (Liszt's) Serenade, Liszt's Funeral from his poetic and religious compositions No. 7, and Petrarch's Sonnet No. 104. Schubert's improvisations consist of four pieces each from his Op. 90 and Op. 142. Each piece is a masterpiece of Schubert, filled with lyrical beauty and full of individuality. Yuhki Takahashi has recorded the second piece from Op. 142 and all four pieces from Op. 90. This is a performance of Takahashi's passion for pursuing the beauty of music. I am of the opinion that Schubert's music is an extension of Mozart's music. Like Mozart, his music is perfect.
