Director Curry (Parker) and I spent a great deal of time together, meticulously crafting the balance between various emotions. Warmth and fear, nostalgia and alienation, and the liberating feeling of love contrasted with a sense of suffocation… What was particularly exciting was that we took risks without hesitation. We deliberately incorporated abrupt cuts (sonic disconnects) and explosive volumes that challenge the listener. To make the listener feel “uncomfortable”—that was precisely our goal.” This film marks Rock Barwell’s landmark debut as a composer for a feature film.
