Bach (1685-1750)

Description:

Keiko Nakata, winner of the 2013 André Marchal International Organ Competition, makes her debut with an all-Bach program! Recorded by Hans Kipfer, a well-known BIS recording artist, Keiko Nakata, winner of the 2013 André Marchal International Organ Competition, releases her debut disc "Joy of Bach," an all-Bach program. In her master's thesis at the Graduate School of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts, Nakata discussed performance interpretation of J.S. Bach's Toccata in C major, BWV 564. Nakada's performance is full of respect for Bach, and his carefully spun tones captivate the listener. The recorded works include famous pieces such as Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV565, Little Fugue in G minor, BWV578, and "There is a Voice Calling You to Awake," BWV645, which everyone has heard before, as well as more technical and gorgeous works such as Prelude and Fugue in D major, BWV532, and G major, BWV550. The organ is a 1984 Marc Garnier organ installed in the Saint-Jean church in Belfort, France. The clear tone of the organ echoes through the church. It is also noteworthy that Hans Kipfer, who is known for his many famous recordings for the BIS label, is in charge of this recording. This is a remarkable recording recommended by Masaaki Suzuki, the great Bach master! Joy of Bach" was the starting point for me when I started playing the organ, and Bach's music still comforts and brings joy to my soul. This is the origin of my beginning as an organist, and Bach's music still comforts my soul and gives me joy. I hope that through this CD, you will be able to enjoy Bach's music in its purest form. For the instruments, I chose the Garnier organ in the church of Saint-Jean in Belfort, France. I stopped by there while studying abroad and was captivated by its beautiful, colorful sound that fits Bach's music." (Keiko Nakata - from the liner notes) King International
