Description:
World premiere recording of the complete works of Bob van Asperen Overlings, an authority on Dutch classical music! Bob van Asperen is a leading harpsichordist and organist in the world of Dutch classical music, and has trained many world-class players as a professor at the Amsterdam Conservatory of Music. This new recording features the complete works of Reynold Popma van Overing (1692-1781), a little-known Dutch composer. Oevering completed his "Op. 1" around 1710, when he was still in his late teens, and it was soon published in Amsterdam, where it was widely acclaimed by J.S. Bach and others. Its "English-style" "Six Suites" are thought to have inspired much of Bach's work as well. Overing was not short-lived, but surprisingly left no further works. The only exception is a small piece for carillon (bell).Included here are "Six Suites" and "HetSneker klok spel" for carillon, as well as all of Overling's surviving works.
