Description:
The Goon Sucks, a Brisbane lo-fi indie-pop trio who debuted in their teens and have a catalogue that includes Ride's Wichita, are set to release their latest album, Mirror II. Brisbane lo-fi indie-pop trio The Goon Sucks, who made their debut as teenagers and have a catalog at Wichita with Ride, release their latest album "Mirror II", their third album in three years and their first since moving to Matador. Produced by PJ Harvey, Aldous Harding, and most recently John Parrish, whose debut album Dry Cleaning is still fresh in our minds, the album was recorded at Invada Studios in Bristol, owned by Jeff Barlow, known for his work with Portishead and Beak. The recording was done at Invada Studios in Bristol. Keiji Haino, The Naked Rallies, Kylie Minogue, Young Marble Giants, Stereolab, Justin Bieber, The Walker Brothers, Syd Barrett, and others brought a wide variety of musical references, and their influences on each other based on Andy Warhol's mirror philosophy created a wonderful chemical reaction. The result is a stunning chemical reaction, and a significant evolution from the previous two albums.Starting with the preceding single, "In the Stone," the trio has switched instruments and vocalists for each song, and the 10 songs on the album feature the minimal band ensemble unique to the trio, and the blue melodies traced in sprechgesang (singing as if speaking) with raw adolescent lyrics, which have been further expanded. After the neoacoustic music of the 80's, the alterna~shoegaze of the 90's, the bedroom pop of the zero's, and the chillwave of the ten's, here is the latest form of moody and overly romantic indie pop from the high sounding Generation Z.
