Music of Dobrzynski, a contemporary of Chopin! The talented Borowicz & Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra! The Piano Concerto by Ignacy Feliks Dobrzynski (1807-14867), a composer of the same generation as Frederic Chopin (1810-1849) who was active in Poland under the oppressive rule of Imperial Russia, was composed in 1824 at the age of 17. Dobuzinski studied composition under Chopin's teacher, Joseph Elsener, and in his "Piano Concerto" we can hear the similarities with Chopin and the influence of the Viennese classical school. Dobrzynski completed his "Symphony No. 2" in 1834, 10 years after the "Piano Concerto. In his later years, in 1862, he revised the slow movement, and this performance by Borowicz & the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra includes two versions, the "original" version and the "revised" version. In this performance by Borowicz and the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra, we can hear the change in style between Dobrzynski's early and later years.Dobrzynski's "Piano Concerto" and "Symphony No. 2" will be performed by Ukas Borowicz, born in 1977, who is attracting attention as a promising new talent in the Polish conducting world.
