Description:
A kaleidoscope of silence and dynamism, Run Run Run's long-awaited new recording is "Bach: Goldberg Variations. Unexpectedly released as the world struggles with the Corona disaster, this album delivers healing music that resonates deep within us. With his previous album, "The Piano Book," Run Run has brought the joy of the piano and music to the world with his standard piano learner's liveries and familiar music from all over the world. Transcending genres, he continues to further his career as one of the world's leading pianists. Recently, he appeared in a special broadcast of Global Citizen's "One World: Together At Home" calling for collective action to stop the crisis of the new coronavirus, and his splendid performances with Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, and Bocelli are still fresh in our memories. Bach's great "Golberg Variations," which he will be challenging this time, is a masterpiece that occupies a unique place in piano art with its incomparable artistry and splendor. It is the pinnacle of baroque keyboard art and is described as the Everest of keyboard players, demanding the utmost in technique and musicality.Lan-Lan has been exploring this masterpiece for more than 20 years, during which time he has been inspired by great predecessors such as Eschenbach and Arnoncourt, and deepened his own interpretation by exchanging ideas with Andreas Steyer, the greatest harpsichordist of our time, in preparation for this recording, which he has decided to make with full confidence. After recovering from a broken arm and getting married, he achieved further human and musical maturity and reached a new stage of his artistry. Her performance is deeply moving with a wonderful balance of intellect, emotion, and intention. Lan Lan performed this piece by heart at the age of 17 in front of pianist/conductor Christoph Eschenbach. This led him to seek the teachings of prominent musicians on the interpretation of Bach's works. Of the "Goltberg Variations," Lang Lang said, "This is one of the most exceptional works ever written for keyboard. It demands your whole self, but at the same time it shows you what you are missing and what you need to learn now. I am 38 years old now.I am not an old man, but I believe that it is time for me to move on to a new stage in my development as a musician. So, through the "Golberg Variations," I have stepped into new territory and fully immersed myself in this project. My goal as a performer is to become more self-aware and intelligent, while at the same time continuing to inspire others. The "Golberg Variations," published in late 1741, is a masterpiece that occupies a unique place in the art of the piano. It is the pinnacle of baroque keyboard art and is sometimes described as the Everest for keyboard players, a difficult piece that demands the utmost in technique and musicality. Universal Music/IMS
