World premiere recordings of these works are also featured! The Hamburg Ratsmusik, led by Jimone Eckert, who is also known for his numerous recordings of works by Haydn, Stamitz, and Hammer, has recorded works by Joseph Haydn, Hammer, and Stamitz. Although works using the viola da gamba were few and far between, Haydn, Hammer, and Stamitz continued to appreciate the instrument's virtues. The instrument baritone was also a string instrument used until around the 18th century, and Haydn composed many works for this instrument. This album includes three pieces from the baritone trio. Attention is also paid to the works by Stamitz and Hammer, whose scores were discovered in a music library in northern Germany and recorded for the first time in the world. The works are performed by Christoph Moynihan and Oliver Kelsken, both virtuoso natural horn players, and are performed by the Hamburg Ratsmusik, an antique music ensemble whose repertoire consists mainly of works from the 17th and 18th centuries.
