This 13th studio album follows their critically acclaimed 2023 release, *Nothing Lasts Forever*. Norman Blake and Raymond McGinley have remained the band’s core members for nearly 40 years, and on *Do Not Dare to Dream*, they have further refined their signature sound of melodic guitars, warm harmonies, and introspective songwriting. “Coming up with an album title… is quite a challenge. Especially after you’ve made 12 of them,” says Blake. Taken from the track “I Do Not Dare To Dream”—a title Blake chose with a touch of irony—the album gently challenges hollow optimism while maintaining a perspective filled with quiet hope. “The whole idea of ‘the courage to dream’ seems kind of ridiculous to me. I don’t think the world works that way,” Blake explains. Instead, much like its predecessor, *NothingLastsForever*, this album is rooted in resilience—re-examining an uncertain world without succumbing to despair, and finding clarity and solace in the moments of everyday life. Throughout *Do Not Dare to Dream*, Teenage Fanclub masterfully blends introspective lyrics with rich, layered arrangements shaped by decades of collaboration.
