This collection of sonatas, "Op. 1," was published in Paris in 1704, and can be considered his calling card in France.The composition consists of 12 pieces, grouped three by three (Church Sonata for Duet, Chamber Sonata for Duet, Church Sonata for Trio, and Chamber Sonata for Trio), and this disc includes the latter six pieces. The composition and writing style reminiscent of Corelli's works illustrate the fashionable Italian music of the time. (King International)
