Talented Pianist Magdalena Lisak Makes Her NIFC Debut! Her Piano Teachers Were Jasiński and Zimmermann! Making her debut on the NIFC label, Magdalena Lisak studied piano under renowned Polish teachers Andrzej Jasiński and and Christian Zimmermann, one of today’s greatest pianists. A native of Katowice, Poland, she won first prize at the 1992 Szymanowski International Competition and placed sixth at the 13th International Chopin Piano Competition in 1995. She is a multi-talented artist who serves as the founder and president of the Silesian Music Society in Poland, acts as a judge for international competitions both in Poland and abroad, and is also active as an instructor at the Katowice Academy of Music in her hometown. This all-Chopin program features a renowned Polish pianist whose talent was highly praised by Ligeti himself. It will also be a pleasure to hear how well she plays this program on an Érard piano built in 1849. Tokyo M Plus
