A compilation of all former EMI releases by Lars Folkert, who died in September 2022The early recordings of Lars Folkert (1970-2022) are a record of an artist who always remained authentic, both to himself and to his music, and were released by the former EMI between 1991 and 2005. All of the recordings released on the old EMI label from 1991-2005 include not only solos and concertos, but also many live chamber works performed with many artists at the Spanungen Festival. Lars Forkert never sought absolute truth, but instead, truth was of the utmost importance to him. He and the artists he performed with were always very close, never playing favorites, never cut off from the world, but instead he was always open and spontaneous. He said, "It's incredibly gratifying when you realize that you might be able to light a little spark or flame for music in people and help them find their own path to their own soul." Born September 8, 1970 in Düren, Germany, [Lars Forkt] began piano lessons at the age of six with Karl-Heinz Kemmerling in Hanover, Germany, and won second prize at the 1990 Leeds International Piano Competition, which caught the attention of EMI Classics and Simon Rattle, In 1997, he founded the Spanungen Chamber Music Festival in Heimbach, with Christian Tetzlaff, Truls Mørk, Tanya Tetzlaff, Heinrich Schiff, Sabine Meyer, Julia Fischer, Daniel Hope and Kim Kashkashian, Daniel Harding, and other renowned artists regularly participate. As a conductor (self-taught), he took over the direction of the Royal Northern Sinfonia in 2015, and in 2020 he was appointed Chief Conductor of the Orchestre de chambre de Paris He died on September 5, 2022, of cancer, diagnosed two years earlier. Lars Vogt was one of the most sought after pianists and conductors in the world for his careful musicianship, near-perfect playing, and sincere touch. Warner Music Japan
