Gardiner's early masterpiece on period instruments, "Music on the Water," is now available in limited edition on 180g analog LP. John Eliot Gardiner founded the Monteverdi Choir in 1964 and the Monteverdi Orchestra with modern instruments in 1968. The first concerts under the new name were held in 1977. The first concert under the new name was at the Innsbruck Festival of Old Music in 1977, but the orchestra was not officially formed until 1978. This "Music on the Water" to Erath was one of the first recordings of the English Baroque Soloists. Gardiner's aesthetic was one of precision, instrumental perfection, intonation, and dynamism, solving problems that shattered any prejudice that could exist in baroque music performance at the time.This early masterpiece "Music on the Water" by Gardiner on period instruments is now available in a limited 180g analog LP edition. *Because this is an imported item, the item (including jacket, outer vinyl, outer box, case, enclosure, etc.) may have minor scratches, folds, scuffs, dents, tears, stains, crushed corners, scratches on the disc surface not affecting playback, stains, image differences, individual differences, etc. at the time of arrival.
