Description:

John McLaughlin is a jazz guitarist from England. He played in both the Miles Band and Tony Williams' Lifetime band, and the live archive of the first original members of the Mahavishnu Orchestra, which he founded at the suggestion of Miles Davis, is now available! Billy Cobham, who had been in Miles' band with John McLaughlin, his old friend Rick Laird, Berry Goodman from Chicago, and Jan Hammer, who was active in New York and on the market at the time, joined the group and started their activities in 1971, releasing the album "The Inner Mounting Flame" in August of the same year. They made their debut in August of the same year with the release of the album "The Inner Mounting Flame". The following year, on January 26, 1972, the group gave a concert at Boston's Symphony Hall, which was recorded and broadcast by a local TV station. This live album is a complete live recording of the concert. The Mahavishnu Orchestra's debut album was recorded at a time when the group was riding high, and its vital performance is a must-hear for fans of the group.
