Description:
The setting is Washington, D.C., in the year 2054. There, a system was being trialed to prevent crime before it happened. Three precogs, individuals with precognitive abilities, would collectively monitor visual images they foresaw. Based on these images, the system would identify and arrest "criminals" predicted to commit crimes within the next few hours. One day, John Anderton (Tom Cruise), the Precrime Division's chief detective, is predicted by the Precogs to commit murder. To clear his name of this unfounded accusation of killing a stranger, John goes on the run. He discovers a report on a past incident—a discarded minority report discarded because the three Precogs' visual predictions didn't match. What truth about the case unfolds from there...? "Minority Report," a futuristic sci-fi blockbuster based on Philip K. Dick's short story, is the dream collaboration of two titans: Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise. The city and building designs showcase astonishingly sharp aesthetics, cars travel vertically, and store signs speak directly to customers.The near future depicted by Spielberg is by no means bright; rather, the thoroughly controlled society conveys a dark image. It is a drama of the darkness within the human heart that becomes more pronounced as advanced digital civilization develops.
