The next generation of British maestro Edward Gardner, who has been Chief Conductor of Norway's prestigious Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra since 2015 and who has made headlines with his announcement that he will succeed Jurowski as Chief Conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra from 2021, will be joined by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra for a second Schubert concerto. Gardner and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) have enjoyed success with a unique recording project for Chandos entitled "Mendelssohn in Birmingham" (CHSA 5132, CHSA 5139, CHSA 5151, and CHSA 5161), The Complete Schubert Symphonies.
