Choir Of Magdalen College, Oxford

Description:

The 4th edition of the prestigious British choir CORO! The theme is "Dawn"! The fourth edition of CORO by the prestigious Oxford Maudlin College Choir is a collection of masterpieces of religious music spanning 500 years, depicting hope and light at the "beginning of a new day" under the theme of "Dawn". From the serene beauty of Thomas Tallis' "O nata lux," to Britten's joyful "Festival Te Deum," to Cheryl Francis-Hord's magnificent "O come let us sing unto the Lord," this album offers a wide variety of music that heralds the "beginning of a new day. The music of this work expresses the light, hope, and joy that heralds the beginning of a "new day. The music beautifully echoes the "Evening" theme of "Peace I leave with you" (COR16205). The Oxford Maudlin College Choir was founded in 1480 as the largest choir in late medieval England, a legacy that has been maintained for five centuries. The choir, now internationally acclaimed as one of the finest ensembles in the United Kingdom, sings primarily at daily church services in the Maudlin College Chapel and at numerous special events throughout the year, including the famous May Day celebrations, a time-honored tradition dating back to the 16th century. The orchestra is also active in concert, performing at the BBC Proms and Cadogan Hall, and has been acclaimed for its work with Britain's leading orchestras, including the Britten Sinfonia and the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. Under Mark Williams, who has worked with many renowned orchestras, choirs, and ensembles as a conductor, chamberlain, and organist, including assistant organist at St. Paul's Cathedral in London, the choir has further developed its polished ensemble and transparent sound. The chorus continues to deliver deep emotions to its listeners by deepening and enhancing its polished ensemble and transparent sound. Tokyo M-Plus
