This is the second release from the elite brass quintet of the Vienna Philharmonic and Berlin Philharmonic, following their first album (TUDOR7201) released in 2015. Tarkovy, trumpet, was principal of the Berlin Philharmonic until the year before last and is currently active as a soloist. The trumpet player Ger and tuba player Putkamer are with the Berlin Philharmonic, and the horn player Jepstol and trombone player Gall are with the Vienna Philharmonic, all of whom are among the world's elite. The dazzling, glittering brass sounds they produce can be likened to the golden interiors of European royal palaces. The program includes works by Victor Ewald and Josef Horowitz, both well-known to brass players, as well as such well-known and enjoyable masterpieces as Coutziel's "Children's Circus" and others.
