TOODLES & THE HECTICPITY is a trio from Bristol, UK, consisting of vocalist/guitarist CALLUM EDWARDS-DUJARDIN, bassist DOMISLOVY, and drummer STEPHEN BRUMMELL. They craft a unique soundscape that blends the raw energy of punk, the sensitivity of emo, and the narrative quality of folk. Recorded in March 2025 at JTSOAR in Nottingham, this 2026 7-inch features three tracks centered on the theme of night. In a sharp departure from their introspective previous work, this release is characterized by a short-story-like structure that weaves together fictional tales—from a cat’s perspective to UFO abductions and the lives of hotel residents. The three tracks are brimming with fresh sensibility: "EVERYNIGHTISABEAUTIFULNIGHT," where an ensemble that seems poised to race forward but doesn’t quietly explodes; "UFOINCIDENT," a fast-paced folk-electro-shoegaze track where a sense of restlessness intertwines with melody; and "MOTELVANIA," which embodies the stillness of the night. True to its title—an homage to the 1950 film *Harvey*—the album transforms the beauty lurking in the cracks of everyday life into a vivid soundscape. Produced by PHILBOOTH and ROBINNEWMAN, the album balances the warmth unique to vinyl with a punchy sound, capturing the raw energy of Bristol’s DIY underground scene in a vacuum-sealed package.
