Description:
Chopin Isn't Just About "Piano" and "Art Songs"! A Collection of Chamber Music Works from Poland's "NIFC" Is Here! The only “Piano Trio, Op. 8,” composed by the 18-year-old Chopin during his Warsaw period, and the “Introduction and Polonaise Brillante, Op. 3,” written around the same time. Also included is the “Concertante for Two Pianos, Op. 8,” a collaboration with the renowned French cellist Auguste Franchom, the “Concertante for Two Pianos,” and other chamber music works by Chopin—though few in number, they continue to shine with dazzling brilliance. Performed by three renowned Polish virtuosos on a 1849 Erard piano, these works resonate with the spirit of the time of their composition and the era in which Chopin lived. Born in Warsaw in 1972, Jan Krzysztof Broja studied at the Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, as well as in Frankfurt am Main and Hanover; he is a pianist regarded as a rising star set to lead the next generation of the Polish music scene. Renowned cellist Andrzej Bauer, who boasts a distinguished record of awards—including first prize at the 1992 Munich International Music Competition and third prize at the 1989 Prague Spring International Music Competition, as well as Polish string players such as Kuba (Jakub) Jakowicz—son of the renowned Polish virtuoso Krzysztof Jakowicz and currently a violinist with the Zetmayr Quartet—who bring tremendous strength to the ensemble. Please enjoy the full charm of Chopin’s “chamber music”—neither “piano” nor “vocal”—as performed by these renowned Polish masters! Tokyo M Plus
