Free was one of the leading figures in the British rock scene of the 1960s and 70s. The band achieved worldwide success with its unique hard rock sound that combined elements of blues and soul, but the band was cut short due to guitarist Paul Kossoff's drug problems... Free's live archive from 1970, the band's peak period, is now available on CD! Their third album "Fire And Water" was released in June 1970, and it was ranked No.17 in the US Album Chart and No.2 in the UK Album Chart, which is a remarkable achievement. To support these sales, the band toured the U.S., the U.K., and Europe, including a tour of Japan in 1971. The January 22 concert in Santa Monica, California was recorded and broadcast on a local radio station for promotional purposes. This live album was recorded and broadcasted by a local radio station to promote the concert, and includes two cover songs. The audience's reaction was great, as "All Right Now," a single cut from the album, was a big hit at the time of the show. The band's performance is also enhanced by this.
