Duval Timothy is a one-of-a-kind talent who crosses black music, club music, and experimental music, and his new album is a mysterious and moving collaboration with female SSW Rosie Low! The recent reissue of his 2017 album "SEN AM" was immediately SOLD OUT, and the new album by UK / Sierra Leonean multi-artist DUVAL TIMOTHY, whose presence continues to grow here in Japan, is a collaboration album with female singer-songwriter ROSIE LOWE from South London! Recorded in London and Freetown between 2019 and 2021, the album was inspired by their shared love of choral music. The layered vocals were used as a follow-up instrument to the piano harmonies, arrangements, and sampling to explore the vocal possibilities in a more creative way. This is an ambitious work that also takes an experimental approach by incorporating ambient sounds.The title track "SON" with its mysterious chorus will move you whether you want it to or not, and "DON" with its clash of soul/R&B, hip-hop, experimental, field recordings, and the originality of both artists, are just some of the wonderful tracks on this album!
