There are many who have written music in the style of Scriabin, but none of them can match the mystique of his later years, and he is unique in the history of music. The Practice Op.65 is a standout masterpiece. Scriabin's exercises, which show his progressive development as he went from one work to the next, can also be heard on a single disc. Moldavian-born Paley, now active in the U.S., plays a masculine piano.
