"Griselda" is the last opera in existence, composed by the master of the Neapolitan musical school, Alessandro Scarlatti, based on a libretto by Apostolo Zeno, based on an episode of "The Story of Griselda" in Boccaccio's "The Decameron". It is the last opera in existence. Scarlatti was ahead of his time in establishing a form of close-up of emotions and feelings with recitative and aria, and left a significant mark on the expansion of the expressive form of Baroque opera.
