Based on the novel of the same name by Audrey Niffenegger, published in the United States in 2003, it became a global bestseller that made the *New York Times* bestseller list and sold over 2.5 million copies. The story depicts two people who, while tossed about by an unjust fate that sends them who knows where or when, continue to think of one another across time and space.
