Green Day, the world's most beloved punk rock band, returns to the scene with their first new studio album in four years!
It's been 30 years since their debut album "Dookie" released in 1994, which became a textbook album of punk rock, and 20 years since "American Idiot" released in 2004, which is a milestone album of punk rock. Green Day has teamed up again with Rob Cavallo, the master musician who produced both albums, to create a new punk rock story. Recorded in London and Los Angeles, "Saviors" is Green Day's 14th studio album. According to the commentary on the music video for the album's first single, "The American Dream Is Killing Me," the album is an invitation into the mind of Green Day and a reflection of their spirit as a band and their 30-year legacy of friendship, culture, and building. and the legacy they have built over the past 30 years. It is raw and emotional, funny and disturbing. It is an album that makes you laugh in the midst of bitterness and weep with happiness. There is a frankness and vulnerability here.
■"The American Dream Is Killing Me," the first single and opening track from the album. This song was one of the last songs written and recorded for the album. Billy decided "to put this song first" the moment he finished writing it. He describes this new song as "an expression of how the traditional American dream doesn't work out for a lot of people. In fact, it's hurting a lot of people.
What are the Saviors? What does Green Day do about that question? The answer is on this album.
