He has since gone on to become a crossover singer singing musicals, jazz, and tango, and has also distinguished himself in the field of contemporary opera, performing works by Bel Canto in the late 19th century. The album is a collection of operatic arias from the late classical period. The album consists of operatic arias from the 1770s to the 1800s, during the so-called "Enlightenment" period. The songs are mostly by Mozart and Gluck, but also include selections from Salieri, Paère, and a rare opera by Joseph Borogne, better known as Saint-Georges. These are all beautiful arias that allow the listener to enjoy the classical construction characteristic of this period, when tenors began to take the leading roles in opera. In recording this album, Graner says that he painstakingly studied the personalities and characteristics of the characters singing the arias. The Marseille Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Neapolitan opera conductor Cleria Cafiero, adds a colorful background to Graner's careful singing, which she portrays according to the character's personality. Graner sees similarities between the Enlightenment and the present day in the search for comfort and stability in the midst of chaos. The classically beautifully constructed arias on this album will provide reassurance to those who live in an unpredictable and chaotic world today. Japanese obi is not included. (King International)
