FANNY, a four-piece girls' band that has attracted the likes of Bowie and Todd, is a great band that plays a natural stance, not too muddy or bad-girl, but full of the flavor of roots sounds such as swamp and folk-rock. While reissues of their original albums have made their music more readily available, the live recordings that are their greatest appeal and could not be contained in the studio recordings have been unearthed this time. The two recordings from 1971 and 1972, recorded for the German TV program "Beat-Club," taken from the original videotapes, have been remastered and recorded. This overwhelming live recording, with its string-bending Les Paul virtuosity, driving melodic bass lines and Janis Joplin-like vocals, complex yet rockin' keyboards, and piston-like drumming with ferocious fills, has been long awaited by the band members for release, The engineer responsible for the transfer of all Beat Club recordings called it "the best ever, even better than Jimi Hendrix.
