Lead singer John Cooper had this to say about the new album, "VICTORIOUS. It's the perfect expression of what we're feeling right now. We wake up every morning and face our demons, but we don't give in to them. There is also an introspective side to this album. I think we made an obvious comment about the world with our last album.This film is looking inward. Perhaps, now that I'm a little older, I've accepted that struggling is part of the journey. When I listen to the songs on here, I'm inspired to fight for my life, for myself, and for what I believe in." John and his wife, Corey Cooper, who plays guitar and keyboards, were responsible for the majority of the production on this album. This is the first time in the band's career that they have done so. With the last album, UNLEASHED, we were able to get back into the swing of things," said Cooper. With 'UNLEASHED,' we were able to get back into the swing of things, and our love for writing songs became stronger than ever. We are now writing tight, electronic hard rock songs. We wanted to keep it modern, incorporate elements of hip-hop drums and keyboards, and still have a strong guitar riff...that's how "VICTORIOUS" started. Our confidence was inspired by the last album and all of our other projects. We were able to produce a lot of music. We thought, "I can produce a Skillet album myself. It was a lightbulb moment. Corey and I had produced before, but we'd never done anything like this. It's a new season.
